COUNTRY Club top amateur golfer Never Milanzi expects an improved show when the Harare Amateur Golf Championships roars at Wingate today. Milanzi, who has been finishing in the top 10 in the previous tournaments, believes it’s high time he wins a tournament. “I have been working hard and I think I will do well at this three-day tournament. I have been practising hard throughout and I think I will continue from last week’s form at the Midlands Amateur Championships.
“I have been working hard and I am prepared for the tournament.
“I know there is a lot of competition, but I always try my best.
“I am quite familiar with Wingate and I hope it will remain playable throughout the four rounds and my aim is to remain competitive,” said Milanzi.
Several top amateurs from the Championship to the CD Division are expected to grace the occasion.
Leading amateur and top junior David Amm returns to action after missing last week’s event in Kwekwe.
Meanwhile, the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe and Parliament of Zimbabwe will hold their golf days at Borrowdale Brooke and Police Golf Clubs this afternoon.
The inaugural National Oil Infrastructure Company Golf Day was held at Chapman yesterday.
It attracted a full field.
Lokuthanda Tshaka, the NOIC public relations manager, said they were happy with the turnout and expect to hold the event every year.
