Harare Basketball Association Super Six League returns

THE Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super Six League returns this weekend headlined by high-flying JBC playing bogey side Arcadia Bucs at Sunrise Sports Club.

JBC, the reigning men’s champions, went into the Christmas break unbeaten and on top of the log standings with 14 points from seven games.

Newboys Basket Hounds, who have played a game more, are second on 12 points from eight games, while Bucs (12), Leopards Academy (11), UZ Stars (10) and Mbare Bulls wrap up the men’s standings.

Hounds play UZ Stars, while Bulls square up against Leopards Academy.

In the women’s category, UZ Sparks will be hoping to put some further breathing space between themselves and second-placed JBC when they play new ladies Fillies.

Sparks are unbeaten after the first eight games and currently top the women’s standings, while JBC are in second with 13 points from the same number of games.

Reigning and defending champions Vixens are third with 13 points and play Harare City Hornets, who currently anchor the standings with just eight points from as many matches.

JBC play fifth-placed Bunnies (eight points).

All matches will be played at Sunrise Sports Club.
