The first medal for Bulawayo came from Siqokoqela Mphoko (junior) who scooped gold in the boys’ Under-12 400-metre freestyle with a finals time of 5:41.19 and got 10 points. He was followed by Bohan Guo from Harare Province.
In the girls’ 17-24 400 metre freestyle, Bulawayo’s Riana Rollo finished in first position followed by Mkhuseli Mahobele and Saira Ramajan both from Harare whilst in the boys’ section Ryan Franceys from Harare, Jayden De Swart and Tichatonga Makaya both from Bulawayo finished in positions one, two and three respectively.
In the boys’ section, Mphoko scooped first position as well followed by Callum Chisholm and Bohan Guo and in the next age group Nathan Chibva, Shingai Shumba and Dwayne Chiyangwa took the first three positions while in the other group, Onesimus Ngwenya, Khaya Vimba and Ruan Neil made the top three and the final age group saw Benjamin Rorke, Ryan Francesy and Cory Wereett also made the top three in the last 200 metre freestyle. Kaschula, Jared and Watson made the top three in the girls’ Under-12 50 metre backstroke and in the following age group, Johnsen, Mbali Sibanda and Zvenyika Shumirai were in the first three in the 12 and 14 age group. In the 15 and 16 group, Olivia Accorsi, Taya Gray and Mikayla Makwabarara made the top three.

Olympian Donata Katai, Rollo and Martell made the top three in the 17-24. In the boys’ side Mphoko once again finished in pole position in the 50 metre backstroke followed by Jwes Jared and Jude Moss and in the 13-14 age group, Kyle Guta, Nathan Chibva and Kwandokuhle Nkomazana made the top three. In the 15-16 group, Mitchell Stanley, Douglas Njowola and Musa Ncube were the top three in the 50-metre backstroke and in the 17-24 age group, Benjamin Rorke, De Swart and Makaya made the top three.
The girls under 12 100 metre breaststroke saw Mbalenhle Jared finish in position one and in the 13-14 group, Adriana Bhana finished in pole position. Susie Worsfold topped the 15-16 age gr
In the boys under 12, 100-metre breaststroke, Watipa Zvenyika finished in position one and in the 13-14 age group, Nathan Chibva was in first position. Tawanda Jani topped the 15-16 age group and Cory Werrett was in position one in the 17-24 age group.
Senamile Mphoko was in position one in the girls’ Under-14 400 metre individual medley while Nathan Chibva topped the boys’. Anje Van As topped the under-16 girls’ event while Ngwenya topped the boys’. In the girls’ Under-24, Mahobele finished in position one and De Swart topped the boys’ side.

In relays, Harare won the girls’ and boys’ Under-12 and Under-14 400 metre freestyle relay races. Mashonaland Country Districts topped the girls’ Under-16 relay while Matabeleland South scooped the boys’. Harare went on to top the charts in the boys over 17 boys’ and girls’ relay charts.
The championships, which have been disturbed by the bad weather since swimming cannot take place during thunderstorms come to an end tomorrow.
