HARARE City Junior Council has strongly condemned acts of violence and bullying among youths.
This follows a video that went viral which shows a naked Mavis Mada (16) of Hwedza being brutally assaulted by other teenagers.

“The recent brutal bullying against Mavis Mada (16) has left us all appalled and heartbroken,” the junior council said in a statement.

“As Harare City Junior Council, we strongly condemn acts of violence, especially amongst the youth.”

The junior council urged all Zimbabweans to be committed to fostering a culture of kindness, respect, and accountability.

“We believe that by promoting empathy and understanding, we can create an environment where bullying has no place,” reads the statement.

“We encourage all community members to join us in actively advocating for change and supporting initiatives that promote positivity and inclusivity. It is our shared responsibility to ensure that no other young person has to endure the pain and suffering that Mavis has experienced.

“By working together, we can create a better and safer future for our youth. Which is why we as prospective Junior Councillors of Harare are running an online campaign to raise awareness and help end the cycle of bullying and violence.”
