Harare City shift focus

HARARE City were yesterday still feeling the pain, of their defeat in the Chibuku Super Cup final at Mandava, but said they were now shifting focus back to the Premier League. The Sunshine Boys had one hand on the Chibuku Super Cup, when the match spilled into time added on, but a last-gasp goal destroyed their dreams. City, who last year came close to claiming the league title, but missed the jackpot in the last game of the season, claim that they were robbed, in the Chibuku Super Cup final.

Speaking to The Herald yesterday, Harare City coach Masimba Dinyero said they have since moved on and were now concentrating on their next assignment against Chicken Inn in the league’s last round of matches.

“It’s not over, we still have a game to play against Chicken Inn. We will be preparing for the game and we are not fighting relegation,” said Dinyero.
“I am surprised people keep on saying that we are fighting relegation, to me it’s not fair and why are people pointing at Harare City only?

“We are going to win that game, we are at home and it’s an added advantage to us. The guys are okay, they have no problem and they are highly motivated for the game.”
A win for City will be enough for them to survive on Sunday.

Dinyero insists referee Norman Matemera gave them a raw deal at Mandava.
“That wasn’t a defeat, we were robbed (yesterday) Sunday, there is no such defeat,” said Dinyero.

“Actually the game was over and it was the referee’s decision that decided the match. My guys did well, they played well and won the game.
“The decision by the referee is final but here in Zimbabwe referees are killing the game.”
