Harare City Council says both the public and private sectors need to play their part in preparing for the 44th SADC Summit that is set for August.
Speaking during a recent full council meeting, Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume said the capital city will be the highlight of the Summit through Chenesa Harare.

“All Government departments are working flat out, the roads are being rehabilitated, the traffic and street lights are being fixed. Everyone has got their work cut out, including City council, the private sector and residents,” he said.

“We are confident that by the time the SADC Summit begins, we will welcome our visitors in a purely Zimbabwean style – a warm and beautiful environment.”

“This is a very significant conference and we all need to put our best foot forward,” said Mayor Mafume.
