Harare to host Chibuku Road To Fame national finals

HARARE province is set to be the hosts for this year’s edition of the Chibuku Road to Fame national finals.

The event will be held in the heart of Highfields suburb at Gwanzura stadium where ten groups will vie for the top spot.

So far, eight groups have earned tickets to represent their provinces and these are six Afro fusion groups, one sungura music outfit and one Traditional contemporary group.

The Afro fusion groups are Mnenga Band from Manicaland, Afro Pulse from Masvingo, Simuniziva from Matabeleland North, Core Vibes from Midlands, All in One from Mashonaland West and Dab Band from Bulawayo.

Also, in the race to the grand finale is Bolamba Culture Birds from Matabeleland South province (Traditional Contemporary Music) and Jungle Foxes (Sungura).

In a statement, organisers said preparations are at an advanced stage.

“All is set for the much-anticipated Chibuku Road to Fame 2025 National Finals, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 4 October 2025, at Gwanzura Stadium. The Chibuku Road to Fame competitions have been running since 23 August 2025,
with provincial finals held across the country.

“The competitions have continued to deliver thrilling performances and
showcase emerging talent. This year marks a special milestone as the event celebrates 25 years of discovering and nurturing talent, in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ),” said organisers.

“So far, eight provinces have crowned their winners, while Harare and Mashonaland Central will soon complete the lineup. A total of ten groups will showcase their talent at the National Finals, contending for the top prize.

“The grand finale will feature performances from the competing groups as well as renowned guest artists, promising an unforgettable day of entertainment from 10am until late,” reads part of the statement.

The Chibuku Road to Fame competition is marking 25 years of discovering and promoting raw musical talent across Zimbabwe.

Held under the theme, “25 Years of Discovering Talent”, Chibuku Road to Fame returns in 2025 is hosting the event in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ).
