Funding has remained the critical factor in water delivery.
The China Import and Export Bank recently approved disbursement of the US$144 million meant for water infrastructure in Harare. City officials are yet to visit Beijing to buy the required equipment that woul dbe installed at water and sewer treatment plants.
The city also wants to buy pressure reducing valves after realising that the majority of water bursts were result of high pressure.
While there is an improvement in Harare, residents of Chitungwiza are still without water.
