Harare Zone inter-schools games at UZ

Friday for the inter-schools competitions.
This is a Zone formed last year with five schools and this year there was an addition of new members.
This was confirmed by the Zone’s secretary Tonderai Rusike, who is also Trust Academy High School’s sports director.
The Harare Zonal Schools last year agreed to hold sporting events in the following age-groups – Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 for both boys and girls.
Officials to oversee the competitions will come from a local reputable teachers’ college, Rusike said.
“This will enhance professionalism and fairness.
“Furthermore, there shall be individual prizes for the athletes and four trophies for the top schools.”
Rusike also stressed that this will intensify the level of competition, and excitement “hence fireworks are expected on Friday at the UZ”.
Rusike also said that Malta Academy still remains as the chairperson of their Zone led by Bliss Chitiva, and that a Mr Zivave of Avenues High is still the treasurer.
He also confirmed that a meeting was held at Frestar Academy where new members such as CITMA, Pheonix, NEC, Lifelong, Premier and Frestar were present.
