Hard work has its rewards

The genial mother of six — who exudes success and focus in every word that oozes out of her mouth — has become the talk of town after Sunony, a Chinese-owned company dealing in herbs, gave her the plush car as a way of rewarding her for excellent job as their agent.
Since 2009, Sarudzai Netia Chinhondo has been involved in network marketing, whereby one introduces clients to venture into the trade of buying and selling the herbs by Sunony.

“Network marketing is a job whereby you recruit people into this trade. I recruited my own people who are now members. Apart from recruiting people, you will be selling products which you buy from this company and all this puts you in good stead for receiving a reward for your efforts,” said a beaming Mrs Chinhondo.
Her journey of winning the car has been a long way after she started small in 2009 after joining Sunony as a member.

“But my business became fully operational in 2010. This job is about selling herbs that help in treating various ailments like high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, fibroids as well as infertility.
“There are also some herbs which are immune boosters, nourishers and detoxifiers.
“These herbs are sold as teas and sometimes they come in the form of capsules (tablets).

“We use detecting machines called the acculife detecting and healing machine. This one is used manually and a patient in the rural areas can pay US$2 per session which can be between 15 to 20 minutes.
“A patient in the urban areas pays US$5 for the same session. “Then there is another machine called the quantum, which is computerised, and for treatment we charge US$10,” she said.

Mrs Chinhondo said she recommended herbs because they complemented treating services being offered by clinics and hospitals.
“Herbs have always been used for healing and they have no side-effects unlike other Western medi-cines.
“Herbs have no overdose because they treat the ailment from the root cause. They are also affordable, ranging from US$5 to US$20.

“Those sold in capsule form amount to 100 in quantity,” she said.
But is she registered to practise in the use of medicine?
“I am registered with the Traditional Medicine Authority of Zimbabwe,” Mrs Chinhondo said.

She urged other women to venture into the business, saying she was now able to pay school fees for her children.
“We receive weekly bonuses for the sales we make. I am thrilled and I urge other people to join the business. I am happy that Sunony has changed my life and now I can afford to pay school fees for my children — Patience, who is in Form 6; Sharon, who is in Form 4; and Vanessa, who is in Form 2.

“My family is also thrilled that there is a new baby in the family (the Mercedes-Benz) which is a symbol of hard work.
“Even my church members at Salvation Army in Dzivarasekwa are congratulating me on the latest acquisition and others have even joined in the trade.
“I will be using the car on outreach programmes outside the country as well as in remote areas,” she announced.

Mrs Chinhondo said the job needed perseverance, focus and good public relations.
“It needs good public relations. Whoever you meet is a potential client. There are others who have fallen by the wayside because they lacked determination. This job requires teamwork. Women should also take an active role in working for themselves as well as their families and desist from wasting their indulging in idle gossip,”

Mrs Chinhondo, who was born on December 24, 1963 in Mhondoro, said.
Her husband, Munyaradzi Chinhondo (54), a potato farmer in Selous, was full of praise for his wife for her hard work.
“I am happy, in fact the entire family is on cloud nine because of this (the Mercedes-Benz).

“I am very thankful to my dear wife for showing the whole family direction. As for Sunony, they have proven that they are a gilt-edged company. We used to doubt a lot of Chinese companies because they would come and go but this one proven otherwise,” said Mr Chinhondo, who has been married to his wife for 23 years.
