This was after paying the appeals fees on Wednesday evening in Harare the same day they finally received a copy of the verdict.
The development gives the Gweru side a temporary reprieve and freezes Tripple B’s promotion into the Premier Soccer League. A win for Hardbody against Forbes and Thompson this afternoon will see the busmen win the title and promotion albeit while waiting for the finalisation of the disciplinary.
Hardbody had been given until yesterday to appeal.
Meanwhile, Sattlus “Kamala” Ncube, a Zifa gates monitoring assistant has refuted claims by two senior Zifa officials Patrick Hokonya and Brian Chishanga that he ever threatened them.
In an interview yesterday afternoon, Ncube, a pensioner, challenged the two officials to “tell the truth” than to claim the person who “allegedly threatened” them is unknown. “I was on my way home in Gwanda when I decided to share with them the sentiments on the ground and there was no mention of death in that conversation. In the first place it is not true to say I am a Hardbody supporter as they claimed but I am a part-time Zifa official who attends to Zifa business at the gates. I went to his office (Hokonya) and I was booked in the visitors’ book and was allowed to go through.
Ncube claimed that he later went to the Zifa office where he met Chishanga and repeated the same message.
Chishanga and Hokonya two weeks ago claimed their lives were in danger after unknown people who they suspected were Hardbody supporters came to their homes and office threatening them with death.
In other developments, Kiglon’s proprietor Arthur Chitinhu, dismissed claims by Chapungu that his club tried to sign Tripple B’s clandestinely cleared Witness Nyamutsaka. “As Kiglon, our position is that the player was cleared to join a team of his choice during the mid-season transfer window and that is stated in the clearance letter. Douglas Mukwaiwa at that time was in charge of clearing players and the player was released above board. Nyamutska then decided to join Triple B where he was guaranteed game time”. said Chitinhu.
