Hardbody chairman Patrick Chikwanda confirmed yesterday afternoon: “We have been told that one of the committee members is away attending to bereavement within the family. The verdict
will now be released on Monday afternoon.
“I urge the Hardbody family to exercise patience and pray for a favourable verdict.”
The busmen appealed against both conviction and the docking of 42 points which left promotion chances hanging by the thread.
Chaired by Tim Sangarwe, the appeals committee sat in Harare last Friday to hear the appeal.
Meanwhile, contrary to claims by Zifa Central Region that Hardbody secretary Raymond Mugandani had not appealed against a disciplinary committee’s decision to fine, it has since emerged the appeal was part of the
Hardbody case submitted to Zifa Harare.
Yesterday, Mugandani confirmed his appeal.
“Yes, I have seen Zifa Central Region’s letter demanding that I pay the fine. This is far from the truth. I submitted my appeal to Zifa HQ and it was not my duty to inform Zifa Central Region about that appeal.
“It has to be noted that Zifa Central Region is first respondent to my case,” said Mugandani.
Mugandani was fined $800 by the Reginald Chidawanyika chaired disciplinary committee.
