His achievement means he has now overtaken former record holder Michael Jackson who had seven top 10 hits from both his 1987 album “Bad” and his 1991 record “Dangerous”.
The producer took to Twitter to share his delight at being the first artiste in the 60-year history of the Official Singles Chart to do this, writing: “Eight Top 10s from my album 18 Months now! So happy!!!”
A spokesperson for the company said: “Many artistes only achieve a handful of hits in their entire careers, so for any act to secure three or four from one album is an excellent achievement.
“In turn, eight top 10s from one album is not just impressive, it is absolutely remarkable. And, of course, record breaking. Congratulations to Calvin Harris, the modern day hit-maker.”
Of course, Calvin has had a little help from some very famous stars to help him achieve the feat.
The album — “18 Months” — features collaborations with the likes of Rihanna, Example and Kelis.
His third studio album has sold more than 540 000 copies in the UK alone since it was released in October of last year.
The now record breaking album has spent two weeks at number one and 10 weeks in the top 10 of the Official Album Chart.
Not surprisingly it has also won him a number of awards — at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, he won Best Electronic Video for “Feel So Close” and Video of the Year alongside Rihanna for “We Found Love”.
The on-demand producer, who has turned down working with Lady Gaga in the past, is no doubt set to be even more sought after following his latest success. — Daily Mail.
