A FASHION designer, with a passion to create innovative designs, Tinotenda “Hatiperi Wacho” Matayi, has officially opened another shop at Long Cheng Plaza in Harare.
He opened his first shop in November 2020 at Eastgate Market Mall. Music superstar, Jah Prayzah, officially cut the ribbon to signal the official opening of the shop. The Hatiperi local clothing label was established in 2018.
Matayi told H-Metro:
“Poverty taught me how to survive by any means necessary and we built this business and brand from zero without any external finding. Everyone is my target audience since we have affordable apparel in our shop and we also do corporate wear for companies – big or small. ’To me fashion is a lifestyle. It can be interpreted in so many ways, its definition can sometimes vary depending on culture, social and personal context.
‘’Anyone who has been in a situation like mine or anyone who has felt like giving up, that’s my immediate audience but, to be honest, an average Zimbabwean, African or even around the world who understands the meaning of the meaning of HATIPERI uses it as an opportunity to learn, adopt, grow and improve.
