HAZ on World Cup preps

THE Hockey Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) is pulling allA� stops to ensure the national ladies team prepares adequately for the Under-21 Hockey Junior World Cup by calling for a three-day early training camp scheduled to start this morning (Friday) up to Sunday.

Foreign based players from as far as the USA, Australia, England and South Africa are expected to start trooping into camp to complement a contingent of local based players to form 32-member squad that will be training at Arundel High School under the watchful eye of head coach Trish Davies. Meanwhile, HAZ has announced the names of three Zimbabwean hockey officials that have been appointed to officiate at the 2016 Olympics Games in Brazil in August and the Under-21 Hockey Junior World Cup in Chile.

Virgina Ross and Farai Kanyangarara will join the panel of hockey judges in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil while Sarah Bennett has been appointed as a technical officer for the Under-21 Junior Hockey World Cup in Chile.
