A HARARE woman has claimed that her former husband earns US$120 a day.
She dragged her ex-husband to the Harare Civil Court claiming maintenance.
Sandra Gumiremhete told magistrate Sharon Mashavira that her ex-husband, Admire Jachi, should contribute to the welfare of their four-year-old child.
She was demanding US$80 a month and said Jachi owns a commuter omnibus and can afford that amount.
“I need US$80 for the maintenance of his son,” she said.
“I know he can afford the money because he owns a commuter omnibus and he is in the process of importing others.”
Jachi said he was just a mere driver of the commuter omnibus and could only afford US$30 because he was married with two other children to take care of.
He said he earns US$110 per month.
“Sandra thinks I own the commuter omnibuses because I write my nickname on every kombi I drive.”
Sandra insisted Jachi earns US$120 per day.
The magistrate ordered Jachi to deposit US$60 into Sandra’s account every month.
