He stole over US$2,5k, bought a car

A 24-YEAR-OLD man, who allegedly stole over US$2 500 and bought a car, has been nabbed.

Abisha Moyo was denied bail when he appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda charged with theft.

He will be back in court today for his bail application. Allegations are that on July 17, Moyo approached Villa Building Gazebo shops with the intention to steal money from businessman Trymore Samson.

The court heard that he successfully entered a cash office where the businessman kept money. It is alleged that Moyo unlocked the office using duplicate keys, ransacked the room and found US$2 636.

He then locked the room and disappeared.

Samson reported the theft at Mabvuku Police Station after discovering his loss.

Police investigations led to the arrest of Moyo.

He led police to the car he bought with proceeds from his loot.

He will be back in court today.
