A woman last week approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her boyfriend who is accusing her of giving him a love portion. According to her affidavit, Precious Mutsimu said she was now living a miserable life because Lovemore Washayanyika was threatening to kill her. “I am sick and tired of being physically abused by Lovemore,” she said. “He comes at my mother’s house where I am staying assaulting me saying I gave him a love portion. Whenever he starts physically abusing me, he will be shouting saying he will kill me if I don’t make him vomit the love portion I gave him,” reads Mutsimu’s application.
Mutsimu said she was now living at her mother’s house, but Washayanyika keeps following her to physically abuse her.
The matter was stayed by magistrate Ms Babra Masinire after Mutsimu failed to prove that she had served Washayanyika with the relevant papers.
