GREETINGS, beloved nation. In 2 Timothy 2:3-4, we read, “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.”
As intercessors, watchers and believers in the body of Christ, battles and wars must be part of our language. Without understanding warfare, we will struggle to prevail in these end times.
There are gates that we need to possess that are representative of various facets of the body of Christ.
Unfortunately, many have shunned warfare due to the pressure of material pursuits.
It’s crucial to recognise that war did not originate on earth; it began in heaven. If there was warfare in heaven, we must prepare ourselves for war on earth as the prince of this world was cast down to our realm.
At these gates, we seek to pass—gates that exist in both Heaven and earth—there are demonic gatekeepers, jealously guarding access to God’s people. In Genesis 6:2, the Bible tells us, “The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful, and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.”
Here, the “sons of God” refer to fallen angels, who corrupted the daughters of men. This corruption extended beyond individuals; it affected the land itself.
The introduction of strange entities caused creation to rebel against humanity. It will take the true sons of God—this includes all of us—to redeem creation from this bondage.
Romans 8:19 states, “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Creation, subject to vanity not willingly, awaits our manifestation to be liberated into the glorious freedom that belongs to the children of God. This creates a contention between darkness and light.
God is raising a generation of believers who understand warfare—people knowledgeable in how to use the elements of the universe to combat spiritual battles. Judges 5:20 reflects this understanding: “They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.”
Here, we see that true spiritual warfare transcends earthly understanding.
Additionally, Revelation 12:16 states, “But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.” This demonstrates how God uses creation itself to assist His people.
As believers, we need to comprehend strategic warfare as we face various gates: political gates, family gates, ministry gates, financial gates, city gates and more. Mastering prophetic prayer is essential.
The Bible indicates that in some cities, Jesus would enter joyfully while in others He would approach quietly. Joy and silence are both powerful weapons in our arsenal.
In Joshua 6:20, we see the walls of Jericho crumble as the people shout: “So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets…and they took the city.” Shouting, dancing and other forms of prophetic expression are weapons of warfare.
I recall a personal experience during a financial challenge when I was led to dance for three hours in prayer. Shortly thereafter, I experienced a significant financial breakthrough.
In our main scripture, 2 Timothy 2:3, Paul encourages Timothy: “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” “Endure hardship” implies patience, faith and hope. Hardships are temporary and incomparable to the glory that awaits us.
Paul also refers to “a good soldier,” suggesting that there are bad soldiers as well. This prompts us to reflect: Are you a good soldier or a bad one?
A good soldier adheres to military codes and training; a bad soldier commits treason.
Sadly, many intercessors have turned their backs, opting for the comfort of slumber rather than engaging in necessary battles.
Consider David, who, instead of going to war, found himself on a rooftop, which led to a significant downfall (2 Samuel 11:1-2). Ignoring spiritual warfare may leave you vulnerable, as we see with both David and Peter.
We must remember that we are in combat gear. Some have become complacent, focusing on worldly matters rather than the urgent call to prayer and action.
It’s time to return to the barracks, to the spirit of warfare and raise the bar of prayer. There is an overwhelming darkness attempting to overwhelm the church of the living God.
It is high time for us to manifest as the true sons of God and correct the course of those who have rebelled and affected creation adversely.
I invite you to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is your Lord and you shall be saved.
May God bless you all.
