A HEADMASTER’S private love messages, which he exchanged with his lover, who is a married teacher, have been leaked, triggering a storm at a school in Bulawayo.
Behlulu Sibanda, the headmaster, exchanged the love messages with Clariet Khumalo, a married teacher.
The controversy began when Sibanda accidentally sent a private message to a staff WhatsApp group.
This exposed his secret love affair with Khumalo.
The revelation ignited a firestorm, especially after Sibanda’s wife discovered the messages.
She issued a warning to all the female teachers at the school to stay away from her husband.
This has created an environment where tension now rules at the school.
When approached for comment, Sibanda denied any wrongdoing and claimed his phone was used by someone without his permission.
“I don’t know why someone would do that. It feels like a deliberate attempt to embarrass me,” he said.
Khumalo dismissed any romantic relationship with Sibanda.
“I have never dated headmaster Sibanda,” she said.
Despite their denials, their relationship, and the revelations from their private messages, have become the dominant topic being discussed by students and teachers at the school.
It has been a dramatic week for senior teachers who have been caught up in love triangles.
On Monday, H-Metro revealed that a 37-year-old marriage has collapsed after a senior teacher abandoned his matrimonial home and moved in to stay with a mistress, who is his former student.
The affair between Calisto Marezva, 62, and his former student Lillian Komboni, has sparked controversy in the Muzvezve Constituency.
Calisto and his ex-wife, Diana Dorothea Gundu, were married for 37 years, they have three children and seven grandchildren.
Calisto abandoned his wife in January last year.
Lillian runs a bar at Donain Shopping Centre and the couple is staying at the same shopping centre.
Diana and Calisto were married under the Marriage Act, Chapter 5:11.
Calisto is a senior teacher with 43 years of experience and teaches at Donain Secondary School.
In the wake of the collapse of his marriage, there have been a number of confrontations between the two women, resulting in multiple court appearances over peace orders and allegations of cyberbullying.
Late last year, Diana filed for adultery damages under case number NO46/25, claiming US$50,000 from Lillian.
H-Metro is in possession of some of the court documents.
On January 14, this year, Lillian was served with a second batch of summons, seeking a response.
“Be pleased to take notice that the defendant is hereby required to file her response to the plaintiff’s claim within five days of this notice, failing which it is the plaintiff’s intention to apply for a default judgment.”
