Heart of the school day

EVERY learner needs to understand that school is the rhythm of our daily life.

Before the sun can even blink, we are up as early as 5am — too tired to think.

To some, the classroom at times feels uninspiring — a heavy burden, a mindless chore.

“It is great for you!” our parents cry.

But we simply groan and wonder why.

One minute late, we start to sprint, eyes half-closed with a sleepy squint.

But once we spot our friends again, the “misery” suddenly ends.

We share a laugh and start our day, until the bell calls us away.

Though stress may loom and pressure grow, we find our stride and go with the flow.

A sharp remark leads to serious punishment; the price we pay for lack of attention.

No doubt, it is earned — it is only fair; a lesson learnt through discipline’s glare.

Our teachers can seem as cold as frost yet help us find our way when lost.

They guide our hands, they lend an ear and help our confidence appear.

Through years of study, grit and growth, we have found both excitement and wisdom.

From wild experiments to saving trees, we have built a world of memories.

As a wise instructor used to shout, “Success is failure turned inside out!”

So, when you are hit, stand firm and fight.

Rest if you must but keep the goal in sight.

Some call it a “chamber of despair”, longing for the December air.

But look again — perspective is the tool.

Honestly?

School is pretty cool.
