Your story on doctors fleecing Government shows how run-down the country is. I had a relative who was diagnosed with a kidney problem and was told that there were some tubes needed. He was asked to pay US$500 for the tube. He paid and another US$500 when it was changed. Now listen to this my fellow countrymen: can you believe that the same tube is costing a mere R15,78 (US$1,60) in South Africa? I mean one dollar and 60 cents. Now, imagine how many can be bought from that US$500 (+R5 000)! Are we really serious about giving our people health or we are after making money? — Jojo.

To be still called “Salisbury Township” on my stand papers is humiliating! Local Government Ministry please, remove these colonial names. It’s over three decades into independence and the Harare city council still prides in being identified by a colonial name! — Pio, Harare.

Thanks Mr Editor for your strong and revolutionary editorial on the CFU. The condescending attitude shown by the CFU deserved your sharp response. We should as a nation not apologise to Boers and ex-Rhodies for our land reform! They have no role to play on anything that needs to be improved on our land reform. — Muzvinavhu, Via e-mail.

There has been a massive tree felling at Safari Farm along Igava Road in Marondera. I hope the Hon Minister owning the farm will start planting trees very soon. — Batino J Jones, Marondera.

All the corruption, illegal deals and abuse of office show that we have sold our souls to the devil.
The culture of greed and avarice has now become cancerous with very deep roots. It is now an acceptable component of Zimbabwean life. There is need for change of Government policy on corruption. — Parafin, Harare.

True, if the European Union Ambassador Mr Aldo Dell’Ariccia is that concerned about the survival of the Zimbabwe economy, he should be the most appropriate man to be making very strong submissions and recommendations to Brussels to help the Government fund Zim-Asset.
At least the ambassador is finally realising that Government is now open and ready for constructive re-engagement with Europe and the rest of the world. We pray that “better must come.” — Tafa Mutekwe, via e-mail.

Tsvangirai has no policies on how to run our country. The guy has no direction. He is good at sniffing and chasing after our sisters with an open zip only.
Tendai Biti of MDC-B is just too egocentric. He is too emotional for nothing. Our opposition is nothing other than farce. They give the country no hope. — Magedhe, Gweru.

Minister Dr Made, who is buying maize at the gazetted price? GMB has no money, Delta is buying at a paltry US$255 per tonne; Cargill at US$260. Who will protect the poor farmer? — Patrick, Kadoma.

Zimbabweans must be realistic and honest. Geoff Nyarota cannot lead a ZANU-PF programme. There is just no justification. This can only be a national programme. — Primitive Muchangana, Harare.

This pole dancing thing is nonsense and unethical. Beverly is polluting our youths and we are celebrating. What will they learn from those evil dances? — Amnell, Nhedziwa.

Can the responsible authorities at ZBC please restore the Sport FM signal to Mutare? We haven’t been receiving Sport FM signal for almost a month now. — Wayne, Mutare.

Pasuwa, you don’t have to be a crybaby. Do you want referees who handle your matches to play according to your tune? Don’t hide behind your finger Pasuwa by accusing match officials whilst you are the main culprit.
You are failing to win games simply because you have run out of ideas. Stop pointing fingers and just look for a new assist coach with football knowledge. — Jongwe Power, Kadoma.

I appeal to the Premeir Soccer League to come hard on players who willingly violently tackle others judging by the two incidents in week 11 of the premiership — Raphael Manuvire’s injury by Mbavarira and Kuda Mahachi’s injury by Charles Rukwanhi. — Lovemore Kashawo, Harare.
