Herdboy (16) rapes employers granddaughter (8)

A 16-YEAR-OLD Tsholotsho  boy was reportedly caught red handed raping his employer’s granddaughter.
The boy (name withheld) allegedly followed the eight-year-old girl to one of the huts in Ntulani Line on Saturday.

Confirming the incident yesterday, Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese said the suspect was still at large.

“I can confirm that we received a report of a16-year-old herdboy who raped his employer’s granddaughter aged eight.  The incident occurred on Saturday at about 4 pm.

“It is believed the boy was left with the girl as the grandmother was away,” said Asst Insp Makonese
She said the unsuspecting girl went into one of the huts and was followed by the boy who quickly pounced on her and raped her once.

“However, the boy was caught by the grandmother who had just returned. A report was made to the police in Tsholotsho but by then the boy had escaped.”

Asst Insp Makonese appealed to members of the public who might have information on the whereabouts of the accused to report to any nearest police station.
