Herentals happy with fixtures

PREMIERSHIP newboys Herentals have said they are not fazed by the fixtures released by the Premier Soccer League on Wednesday. They will begin their campaign with tricky encounters which include an away trip to Tonderai Ndiraya’s Ngezi Platinum Stars before they return home to face Highlanders.

They will then have another long trip to ZPC Kariba.
The Students’ team manager, Oliver Chirenga, said they are in the Premiership because they deserve to be there.
Herentals did not open the cheque book after gaining promotion.

“We are happy with the fixtures and we are ready for the campaign because we have done everything and I believe we can do well in the top-flight.

“We have been playing several games against good sides and that have given our players confidence. We also have a good technical team that we believe in and they can match any team at any moment.

“It will be interesting to see our progress as most teams will give us as an underdog tag,” said Chirenga.
The team was hailed by Zambian side Buildcon’s head coach Arena Gulgleimo for their style of play after they had a practice match ahead of the league programme. Buildcon spent several weeks on tour in this country where they played pre-season games against Ngezi Platinum, Herentals, Yadah Stars and Dynamos.

“I understand they were promoted this season, they can give problems to any team because they play together.
They play deep so if you cannot play fast they can give you a lot of problems,” Gulgleimo said.
Buildcon have on their books four Zimbabwe players — Nqobizitha Masuku, Tatenda Mukuruva, Patson Jaure and Devon Chafa.
