HERENTALS president, Innocent Benza, says his team will do everything to assist the family of their chief security officer Edgewell Mushore who died in Harare on Saturday morning.
He was 52.
Mushore will be buried at Zororo Cemetry in Harare this afternoon.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sport yesterday, Benza said the Herentals family has been shaken by the death of Mushore and the club will ensure that they take care of his family.
“I have known Edgewell (Mushore) for a long time. He has been the team’s chief security officer for a long time and his passing on has left a huge dent in the club,” said Benza.
“He was a disciplined and trustworthy cadre who performed his duties with honour and distinction.
“It is painful that he has gone now. Only last Friday, we were discussing issues around the club development and growth.
“I was shocked to receive a call on Saturday morning when we were preparing for our match against Ngezi Platinum Stars.
“Everyone received the news with a state of shock. As Herentals College Football Club, we will just make sure that the family left behind by Mushore gets what they have been getting when he was still alive.”
With everyone at Herentals unsettled by their chief security officer’s death, the Students looked nervy when they took to the field against Ngezi Platinum at Rufaro on Saturday.
They lost 1-2 with Obriel Chirinda scoring the winner from an off-side position.
