ARCHIMORE MAJARIRA’S first goal of the season saw Herentals securing a narrow victory over Nichrut FC in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.

Majarira came in as a second half substitute, only to separate the two sides at the death after volleying in from an acute angle.

A delighted Herentals FC coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva heaped praises on Majarira, saying he had been a game changer although he said he was not surprised with the goal.

“It was a good goal by Arch (Majararira) but he used to score goals like that last year and does the same during training, to me it’s not a surprise because it was a matter of time before he could do it on match day.

“He was a game changer for us,” he said.

The win saw Herentals attaining their 18-point target in the first half of the season, and Mutiwekuziva believes it is enough for his side to survive relegation.

“I am happy with the result not only because we are now winning matches but the fact that we have attained our 18-point target in the first half of the season, which I am sure will help us survive relegation although it is still early to talk about relegation,” said Mutiwekuziva.
