Herentals win again

ZIMBABWE Women’s Football League pacesetters Herentals Queens notched another victory on Saturday when they beat Faith Drive 1-0 at Nyamauru Ground in Mutare.

The Students’ forward Maud Mafuruse scored the all-important goal.

The log leaders have only lost once this season and are left with two rounds of games before they are crowned champions.

Chapungu Queens maintained their second spot when they beat Black Mambas Queens 2-0 at their home ground at Mkushi sports club. The Airforce of Zimbabwe scored through leading goal scorer Ethel Chinyerere and Cleopatro Chigubhu. Chinyerere got her 33rd goal of the season.

Harare City picked up another victory when skipper Rudo Neshamba scored the solitary goal against Chipembere Queens.

Correctional Queens won their game in hand against Mutare City Rovers. The visitors thumped Rovers Queens 5-0 at Sakubva stadium with Marjoury Nyaumwe and Erina Jeke grabbing a brace.

Rutendo Mukucha added the other goal.
