HEXCO records 70pc pass rate in national exams

The Higher Education Examinations Council has released the November and December 2025 national examination results, recording an overall pass rate of 70 percent, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development has announced.

In a statement, the ministry said candidates could begin collecting their results from their respective HEXCO centres nationwide on Friday.

Announcing the release, Higher and Tertiary Education Permanent Secretary, Professor Fanuel Tagwira, expressed appreciation to stakeholders involved in the examinations process, crediting their collective efforts for the successful administration of the assessments.

“He wishes to thank all stakeholders involved in the national examinations process. Their contribution towards the success of the examinations has resulted in the achievement of a 70 percent pass rate,” reads part of the statement.

Prof Tagwira advised candidates to access their results from their respective regions within the stipulated collection period.

“All candidates are advised to access their results from their respective regions as from Friday, 21 January 2026.”
