Heynckes wishes Guardiola success

JUPP Heynckes has wished his replacement as Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola “as much success as I had” in an interview in the German press yesterday. “I will be thrilled if Bayern again win the league and Champions League,” Heynckes, who guided Bayern to an historic triple last season, told Kicker.

He believes that in Guardiola Bayern have chosen the right man to take over the reins at the German giants.
The former Barcelona man’s appointment “was the right decision      for the future generation,” said  Heynckes.

Guardiola, who won 14 trophies with Barcelona, will conduct his first training session since moving to Munich on 26 June after spending his first week at the club fine-tuning his German.

The 68-year-old Heynckes also touched upon his own future, declaring in yesterday’s edition of Spiegel: “I can guarantee you that I will no longer be coaching, I’ve had a dignified exit”, stressing he had no desire to become manager of the national side.
