High expectations for ‘Ziyanda’ movie

Expectations for the success of upcoming film “Ziyanda” are high with the producers of the movie aiming to score gold on the international market.

The star studded film features Mzansi cast Katlego “Dineo Mashaba” Danke, Luthuli Dlamini and Rhythm City’s Zintle Ncipa.

The local front will have firm representation from singer and preacher Stanley “Pastor G” who is no stranger to acting.

Other to hold up the flag will be upcoming talent Thabo Ntaisi, Amanda Huni, Bekithemba Sibanda and Fortune Mguni will be out to prove their mettle.

“The film is a Zimbabwean international film production, which is targeted at markets in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. We believe that this film will assist to position Zimbabwe as an international film destination,” said Dumisani Nkomo who is the executive producer of the project.

He said they were anticipating that “Ziyanda” would become a marketable business product, which would pave the way for exportation of local films.

He said the project has been in the pipeline for the past three years with its promotional trailer posted in May attracting more than 1 200 views on you tube.

The views according to Nkomo are drawn from Zimbabwe, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada.

“It has taken us over three years to develop the film concept and process and we are determined to ensure that it is a quality product that will be able to make inroads worldwide,” he said.

“The promotional video for the film was launched in Bulawayo and Harare with Katlego and Zintle Ncipa making grand appearances (in the country).”

Shooting is set to resume by October with the local and international cast expected at their various sites.

The 90 minute feature film will put human trafficking on the spot light and highlight the plight of victims of the evil

.The subject is a sentimental globally and Zimbabweans as well as many other Africans have not been spared when they migrate in search of greener pastures.

However, the audience have to be patient until May next year, when it is officially launched before they may see final product.
