To get such a priceless victory without conceding a goal, against a team that hadn’t lost in half-a-dozen matches, was as good as it gets for Bosso.
The 1-0 win over CAPS United, courtesy of forward Masimba Mambare’s golden goal, fired Highlanders five points clear of the chasing pack.
Kaindu said the Bulawayo giants could have won by a bigger margin.
“I cannot take away anything from CAPS United,” said Kaindu.
“Being one of the teams enjoying good form they played well, but I felt we could have won by a bigger margin.
“We had two goals disallowed for reasons I am not quite sure of.
“Maybe the referees had a better explanation.
“But I am happy we collected maximum points and we are in a good position on the log standings.”
Kaindu said although Bosso were sitting pretty, the target remained to build a competitive team for next season.
“What we want is to build a strong team for next season,” said the Zambian.
“We have got quite a number of young players in our squad and we have been impressing it upon them that they can play competitively.”
The season’s surprise packages, Buffaloes, gave away an early lead to allow FC Platinum to salvage a point at Sakubva.
Never Musvipa had put them ahead in the 15th minute but Allen Gahadzikwa levelled terms with 20 minutes remaining.
FC Platinum even had a strike by returning resident, Benjamin Marere, disallowed.
The platinum miners have now taken four out of six points under the caretaker guidance of Tendai Chikuni, who replaced his boss Rahman Gumbo, who was fired last week.
Given the way Buffaloes have been playing, FC Platinum will take this as a point won, than two dropped, as their last away game was a lifeless display in falling 0-2 to Monomotapa at Gwanzura.
FC Platinum and Buffaloes are tied on 25 points but the visitors occupy third place while the army outfit are one rung below on the table because of goal difference.
Veteran Dynamos midfielder, Desmond Maringwa, is set to return to the team in the second half of the season to prop up the Harare giants in their quest to retain the title.
Assistant coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, yesterday said they needed Maringwa’s experience to guide their youngsters like Partson Jaure, Farai Mupasiri and Tichaona Mabvura, who were outstanding when thrown into the fray on Sunday in the 6-0 drubbing of Blue Rangers at Rufaro.
Both Mupasiri and Mabvura scored a goal each to complement hattrick hero Takesure Chinyama’s feat while Rodrick Mutuma was also on target.
This was arguably Dynamos best display this season and the technical team was particularly impressed by the duo of Mabvura and Mupasiri, who rarely make the starting places in the team.
DeMbare are also set to register highly-rated forward Cliff Sekete, who started training with the Glamour Boys yesterday, following his move from city rivals Gunners.
The Glamour Boys are also monitoring the league’s top goal-scorer, Nelson Maziwisa, but given that his parent club is FC Platinum, who view Dynamos as bitter rivals, it’s unlikely such a move will ever be sanctioned.
Ndiraya said it was too early to make noise over the youngsters and reckoned that they needed mature people like Maringwa to mentor them on the field.
Ndiraya said the coaches are pushing for the registration of the experienced midfielder during the transfer window, which closes at the end of the month.
Maringwa, who has been making cameo roles in the reserve side, resumed full training last week.
“We want Gazza to come back because his experience is very important in this team.
“We have youngsters coming up and we feel that they will be able to reach their maximum potential with people like Maringwa around and guiding them.
“I believe he is one of the best players we have had at Dynamos before his injury.
“Over the years his presence has helped us win trophies and he still has what it takes to take the team forward.
“So we are hoping to add him during the transfer period,” said Ndiraya.
The Glamour Boys remained sixth in the log table with 23 points from 11 outings and have three games in hand.
Ndiraya said DeMbare’s win was a big morale booster ahead of the return leg tie of the Confederation Cup group stage play-offs against Interclube of Angola this weekend.
Rangers, who have had a dismal run this season, sunk to their worst defeat since joining the top-flight league last year, and were battling to calm the discord that arose in their camp following the sudden resignation of their coach Misheck Chidzambwa.
The former national team coach walked away hours before the game after clashing with the team’s owners over team selection surrounding the omission of defender Nyasha Chazika.
Chidzambwa had been preparing the team the whole week and felt the club’s bosses had no business dictating who should make the final 18 and decided he had had enough.
In the end his new assistant Masimba Dinyero sat on the bench but the former Dynamos man may decide not to stay longer in solidarity with his colleague.
Rangers chairman, Moses Shumba, refused to comment on the issues but insisted the club was under immense pressure to try and survive relegation.
“At the moment I cannot say much about the issues surrounding Sunday’s game,” said Shumba.
“As you could be aware there were internal issues that arose just before the match and we are trying to sort out everything.
“The matter will be discussed and we might have a comprehensive statement by tomorrow.
“We are in a difficult position on the log table but we are not giving up hope.
“There are still 16 games to play and we need to win about 11 of them.
“You can imagine the pressure but it is not impossible.
“We need mental regeneration to get us through this storm and we are also in the process of negotiating with new players to beef up during the transfer period.”
