HIGHLANDERS FC have confirmed the departure of midfielder Shepherd Mhlanga, who joined the Bulawayo giants at the beginning of the 2026 season on loan from FC Platinum.

The midfielder’s loan spell at Bosso has now come to an end, with the club thanking him for his contribution during his time at Barbourfields Stadium.

In a statement, Highlanders said Mhlanga had displayed professionalism and dedication while representing the club’s first team.

“Highlanders Football Club can confirm the departure of midfielder Shepherd Mhlanga who joined us at the beginning of the 2026 season on loan from FC Platinum.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Shepherd for his professionalism, hard work, and dedication during his time with our club. His contribution to the men’s first team squad was highly valued, and we wish him the absolute best in his future football endeavours,” the club said.

Mhlanga becomes the latest player to leave Highlanders during the season as clubs continue to make adjustments to their squads during the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.

The midfielder joined Bosso as part of the club’s preparations for the 2026 season and featured for the first team before returning to his parent club.

“Siyabonga, Shepherd,” Highlanders said.
