Highlanders handed three points

HIGHLANDERS have been awarded three points by the PSL from their abandoned match against Dynamos at Barbourfields, which was marred with violence.

Both clubs were found guilty of breaching PSL rules and regulations in a disciplinary hearing. Bosso were found guilty for leaving their fans to invade the pitch, causing a temporary halt to the match, for 15 minutes.

The Bulawayo giants were fined US$5 000.

Dynamos were fined US$7 500 causing the abandonment of the match in which their fans uprooted the goal posts.

In a statement, the PSL said,

“The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has released the judgment in the matter involving Highlanders FC and Dynamos FC following incidents of violence and hooliganism that took place at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday 15 May 2022.”

“Dynamos FC have been found guilty of breaching PSL Rules and Regulations and fined a sum of US$7 500.

“In addition, the match has been awarded to Highlanders FC on a three-nil score line.

“Highlanders FC were also found guilty and fined US$5 000. The fine, together with the costs of the hearing, shall be paid within fifteen days of receiving the judgment.”
