HIGHLANDERS Rugby Football Club are seeking coaches for their first team, Under-21 as well as women’s side.

Themba Phiri, the Highlanders RFC chairman, said they are in need of coaches for all the teams for the different age groups at the club.

“We are trying to revive the structure of the club similar to the one we had in the past years. This is aimed at improving the standards of rugby players and the club as a whole, so that we produce a formidable, competitive side in the Inter-City League,” said Phiri.

“All the applicants for the available posts at the club must possess at least Level Two rugby coaching certificates. I would like to urge the applicants to meet the deadline for applications which is end of February in order for the coaches to begin their pre-season training with the teams in preparation for the league to kick off in March,” Phiri said.

The club chairman said that two committees have also been set up that will assist in the running of the team and sourcing of the club’s finances.

“We have set up the marketing committee which will be responsible for engaging with the corporate world and source sponsorship for the club, while the fundraising committee will assume the role of raising funds for the club,” he said. @J_sihwa
