HIGHLANDERS treasurer Nkani Khoza has stunned club members after disclosing that youth player Simbarashe Madzivire, who is yet to establish himself in the senior side, has received more than US$7 000 in overpayments under his contract.

Although regarded as one of the standout prospects from Highlanders’ 2022 youth intake, Madzivire has never been named in a senior match-day squad. Despite this, records confirm he is on a senior team contract, earning US$450 per month and entitled to a residential housing stand.

Khoza’s revelation has raised serious concerns over the club’s administrative and payroll systems. Members expressed disbelief that a player with no senior appearances could benefit from such substantial payments, demanding urgent clarification and tighter financial oversight.
