The Highlands A team of Tom Craven, Robbie Robison, Kevin McGeogh and Manual Silva defeated the Highlands B team 23-13 in the final to end on nine points.
Highlands also proved strong in the semi-final, against Highlands B, whom they beat by five shots and ended their match with a 22-17 victory.
Highlands A got a gold medal and a floating trophy while their B team got second place and walked away with a silver medal. Borrowdale Country Club beat Hillside of Bulawayo 16-15 in the semi-final in a very competitive game. At some point, Hillside were leading by one shot.
In the final Hillside B suffered a 10-13 defeat at the hands of Borrowdale who settled for third place and walked away with bonze medal.
Highlands A Skip Tom Craven said it was a very competitive show and defeating their second team was a tough task.
“I’m happy and it is good we won after beating our B team, it was hard but we did it,” said Craven.
Meanwhile, the Pairs and the Trips got underway yesterday at three different venues.
In the women’s section Highlands and Alexandra Sports Club were leading with four points.
Highlands played three games, won two and lost one against Alexandra A.
Alexandra A also played three matches and won two and lost one against its B team.
Avondale lost two and could only win a match against Alexandra B.
Borrowdale Country Club A team played two games and won one.
