HILLCREST College IXs rugby side will tomorrow (Saturday) have the chance to settle a score against Lomagundi when they square-off at the annual Winter Fair.

This year’s Winter Fair will mark Hillcrest College’s 30th anniversary.

The Winter Fair which is an annual event at the institution is open to everybody, with lots of entertainment, fun fair and exhibitions.

Sporting games are however the highlight of the day.

Hillcrest College sports director, Crispen Mhike said this year’s Winter Fair would be extraordinary as the institution celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“The Winter Fair is an annual event where we open our gates to the community to intermingle and bond with them.

“This year’s Winter Fair will be exceptional given that we are celebrating our 30th anniversary.

“We are celebrating 30 years of growth as we have now become a leading institution highly rated nationwide, but above all on this day we value our immediate community, which is the Mutare community,” said Mhike.

The rugby team will host Lomagundi in its fourth Coed league match of the season, while the girl’s hockey team will pit Eaglesvale High School.

The Co-Ed league comprises of Hillcrest, Watershed, Gateway, Eaglesvale, Hellenic, Petra, Midlands Christian College and Lomagundi College.

So far, the Leopards have played three matches against Heritage winning 64-20, drew 29-29 against Hellenic and last weekend trampled over Gateway 60-5.

The match against Lomagundi will no doubt be a potential thriller given that the Leopards lost 21-17 to the side at the 2015 Dairiboard schools rugby festival in April.

The match kicks off at 3pm.
