Zaangoma, an online hip hop review show which explores deep hip hop concepts and potential hit songs, will host a hip hop party “Vengoma” party on Friday at Travel Plaza.
The hip hop show was launched in March and has been making significant progress since the release of its debut episode.
These Zaangoma parties will be themed according to tribal concepts that the organisers may deem fit taking a number of aspects into consideration.
The theme for the maiden party is “Vengoma” which is about celebrating those with the ability to create.
To celebrate those with the ability to create the organisers are putting together the best stage for Harare revellers and socialites.
The show’s producers have shown positive intent by hosting renowned local hip hop acts like Munetsi, Shingirayi formerly known as Mau Mau as well as Begottensun and upcoming hip hop artist Calvin amongst others in just two episodes.
The same people who bring Zaangoma have came up with a brilliant idea to host an A-list hip hop party ,something which the local event organisers have not been doing for a long time.
In an interview, Zaangoma creative director, Quinton Mutsinze known to many as Dir Quence said, “Zimbabweans are being promised an international stage, electrifying performances from Zyon Black ,DJ krimmz Beatz, DJ Chucknosis, Yagi Dojo and a few more artists we may add to the roster.
“This party is celebrating a number of contemporary music genres found in the vicinity, the likes of Zim Hip hop, Zim RnB, Progressive house and African electro as well as ZimPop (although hip hop will be the dominant genre on the day),” he said.
Among the expected guests at this party are prominent figures like internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean singer and producer Audius Mtawarira, prolific visual artist and animator Nqobizitha “Enqore” Mlilo as well as the well travelled Disk Jockey and Producer Take Five. Host of the show Michael Mupotaringa said the party is their debut performance and guests are supposed to come dressed in true hip hop style.
“The party is our first as we are branching out into events to give the show continuity and keep it sustainable. Guests should be dressed elegantly,” he said.
