ON-FIRE Manica Diamonds forward Michael Tapera is targeting 20 goals in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this season.
The May Player of the Month has five goals to his name, from 12 games.
“When the league started, my target was 20 goals. I haven’t changed my target because I believe there is still time and room for improvement.
“For the remaining games of the first half, I am aiming to score in each and every game.
“Winning the Player of the Month award was amongst my goals and achieving it, boosted my confidence.
“I know I will achieve my goals for this season.
“With focus, hard work, determination, and less pride, my target is very much achievable. I believe in setting high standards for myself. That is how I keep myself motivated,” said Tapera.
Tapera said he feels rejuvenated coming back from injury that saw him missing their home match against Hwange.
“My comeback is personal; I have targets to meet. I am fit now and hungry for more goals. I have been working very hard to improve and polish up my skills.
“I am going in the right direction; I am being recognised.”
Manica Diamonds are in Harare for a date against Yadah at the Heart Stadium tomorrow.
