Washington Choruwa (45) called her to his table at Jambanja market in Chitungwiza, lured her and sexually abused her. He was facing two counts of rape when he appeared before Chitungwiza regional magistrate Ms Estere Chivasa.
He denied both counts and was later convicted of a lesser charge of contravening section (70), which forbids having sex with a minor. Ms Chivasa slapped him with a six-year jail term but set aside two years on condition of good behaviour.
