AN 18-year-old HIV positive woman from Chirumanzu allegedly sexually abused a three-year-old boy from her neighbourhood, a court in Gweru heard yesterday.
Tinotenda Chigora, 18, of Mangawu Village, Headman Chigegwe in Chirumanzu appeared before Magistrate Judith Taruvinga facing one count of indecent assault.
She was not asked to plead and remanded in custody to July 16. Chigora told the court that she was sick and needed medical attention. “Ndinorwara (ngiyagula) I’m sick),” she said.
Taruvinga told Chigora to go for a medical examination first before coming back for trial.
“You’ve stated that you are sick so I’m remanding you to July 16 to allow you time to be medically examined,” she said.
Prosecuting, Helen Kosa told the court that in April this year in Mangawu Village, Headman Chigegwe in Chirumanzu, Chigora, who is HIV positive, played with the complainant’s manhood and later inserted it into her genitalia.Chigora and the complainant are not related, the court heard.
