Holiday Inn treats Percy Ibbotson kids to Xmas lunch

CHRISTMAS came early for 35 children from Percy Ibbotson Hostels and Remand Home after the Bulawayo Holiday Inn treated them to a sumptuous lunch on Monday. The home’s supervisor, Ntandoyenkosi Mpofu said it was pleasing to note that there are institutions that remember the less privileged members of society during Christmas.

“These children today feel there are people out there that care for their welfare,” he said.

The home which is a rehabilitation centre, caters for abused boys, those that abuse others and orphans.

Many of the boys said it was their first time to be in a hotel and having a meal at the hotel will remain a lifetime experience.

“I’ve never been in a hotel. I’m more than excited and grateful for this love and care,” beamed one of the boys.

Grace Guchu, Holiday Inn Bulawayo Front office manager said over the years the hotel has been taking the meals to homes such as Percy Ibbotson Hostels but this year decided to bring the children to the hotel.

“This is our way of giving back to society that gives us business everyday,” she said.
