Hurry, space is limited!!
Party goers in Bulawayo will have to make other plans of entertaining themselves as there is no guarantee that all Kalawa fans will be admitted to witness the homecoming event this year.
Only a few people will have the opportunity to witness their December go-to party. Manu Mahaso of the Bulawayo Cosmopolitan night club where homecoming will be held says there will be limited access to the venue as Homecoming is too big for the club.
“Our club is too small for homecoming so we will have to make sure that we do serious cut-off times for people,” said Mahaso.
Kalawa, which is known for attracting more than five thousand people, will this year accommodate less than forty percent of its usual audience.
“Cosmo can only take up to 2 000 people and we are not sure if we will take the whole 2 000 in, we will not take anything more than that. Some people will be turned down,” he added. Organiser of the homecoming event Vusumuzi Siqalaba of the XMO Squad said this year’s event was not about attracting crowds but merely to keep their name relevant in the entertainment sector.
“We are not hoping for a blast at Homecoming club version, we are doing it because we want to remain relevant in the industry, we don’t want people to forget our brand,” said Siqalaba.
Apart from being held at a smaller venue this year’s event has a lukewarm line-up. Busiswa and Dj Zinhle will be the headlining artistes being supported by a few locals.
“This year we will not have a big line-up as people have always expected, since it’s a small event we have only Busiswa and DJ Zinhle and a few local artistes to perform,” Siqalaba said.
