For two weeks UK musicians Pineal Munatsi, Timothy Ngwenya, Matilda Tekeshe and Caroline Rumbi will be performing in different parts of the country, in a tour dubbed “Homeland Tour”.
The first leg of the show will begin with a live performance in Bulawayo on July 13, before the second show in Harare on July 13.
The last leg of the tour would be held in Mutare on July 31.
Chivaviro was ecstatic about the gig and promised to give his best on the events.
“We are humbled to be chosen to be one of the groups invited to be part of this historic tour from our brothers and sisters from the Diaspora. We will definitely give our best as we continue spreading the gospel to the people,” said Chivaviro.
The musician who has begged several awards last month said the event was meant to introduce the artistes to their Zimbabwean fans.
He will also take the opportunity to celebrate his African Award among friends, gospel fans and the visiting artistes.
The celebration which is being organised by fellow local gospel musicians and Artisan Studio is aimed at giving thanks to his music fans for their overwhelming support.
Rev Chivaviro started singing back in 1999 and has won a number of accolades in the last decade.
The awards include “Musical Peace Award” won in 2003 for music that promotes peace, an award won alongside music maestro Alick Macheso and Ephart Mujuru for a song “Runyararo” off the album “Komborerai Africa”.
In 2010 Rev Chivaviro was nominated at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards in the best Africa Category for song “Mumwe Ariko Kumusoro”.
The husky-voiced Chivaviro now based in South Africa left the country in 2006 to pursue PHD studies.
Chivaviro who is a Reverend at Assemblies of Pentecostal Methodists (APM) said he would dedicate his Award to his fans.
