TWO homeless people were hauled to court yesterday after they allegedly robbed a pedestrian in the Avenues area and left him for dead.

Panashe Nyamurowa and Nyasha Majoni appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

He remanded them in custody to today for bail considerations. The court heard that on Sunday, at around 3pm and at the corner of Sixth Street and Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, the duo, and three others who are still at large, connived to rob Ngonidzashe Sibanda.

They attacked him using bricks and a wooden stick.

When he was down, they stole two cellphones, headphones, a power bank and US$40.

Sibanda filed a police report leading to Majoni’s arrest.

The police recovered the two cellphones from her.

Grace Mugocheke prosecuted.
