Homeseeker loses US$40 000

Magoke has since been arrested.
Magoke (40) yesterday appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Shane Kubonera charged with fraud.
He was remanded out of custody on US$300 bail.
As part of his bail conditions, Magoke was ordered to surrender his passport, report twice a week at the nearest police station and not to interfere with State witnesses.
His accomplices Daniel Dindikwa, Maxwell Benhura and Wilbert Marenga are still at large.
The quartet allegedly placed an advert in a local newspaper indicating they were selling a stand in Vainona.
Prosecutor Ms Svodai Kadivirire alleges that Bvunzai and his accomplices placed an advert in the media purporting to be selling stand number 299 in Vainona.
The complainant (name not given) responded to the advert through the number that was supplied in the newspaper, the court heard.
Magoke reportedly directed the complainant to his office, Dindikwa and Partners, where they misrepresented that Marenga was the stand owner and was selling it.
The complainant was shown documents, which indicated that Marenga had bought the stand from the real owner Mr Gerald Connolly, the court heard.
The State says that the complainant paid US$40 000 through the misrepresentation and the property in question was never transferred to her.
The complainant became suspicious and made a police report leading to Magoke’s arrest.
Investigations unearthed the scandal and it was discovered that Mr Connolly was the owner of the stand and had not sold it to anyone.
