Hometown inspiration fuels Maestro Da Hustler’s new album, “Dear Mpilo”

Local hip-hop artiste Maestro Da Hustler is set to release his new album “Dear Mpilo” on July 28, and the project promises to deliver a powerful message for the younger generation.

The Bulawayo-based rapper told Chronicle Showbiz that his music and artistic vision are deeply influenced by his hometown.
“Like my music, it has a powerful message; when listening to it, my fans should expect more. My music has got a lot of messages about life in this world we live in,” he explained.

The upcoming 11-track album “Dear Mpilo” tackles vital themes that Maestro Da Hustler hopes will resonate with young listeners.
“In my album, ‘Dear Mpilo’ I am informing the younger generation about this life we live in because there is a lot happening in it, be it bad or good we have to accept and move on, it shall be well tomorrow,” he shared.

Maestro Da Hustler’s distinctive sound blends the infectious rhythms of kwaito with the hard-hitting delivery of hip hop.

“Growing up, I used to listen to kwaito and hip hop music and got inspiration from South African artistes such as Zola 7, Pro kid and AKA,” he revealed.

This fusion has become his trademark, creating a unique musical identity that sets him apart.

The artiste’s passion for music and storytelling is rooted in his personal experiences.
“The life I lived back then was tough that I ended up deciding to push music so that I tell the world about life,” Maestro Da Hustler explained.
“I hope my fans listen very carefully to the lyrics I give to them because it has got a lot in it.”

As an ambassador for Zimbabwean music, Maestro Da Hustler is determined to represent his country on regional and international stages.
“I plan to represent Zimbabwe regionally and internationally by delivering a sound that touches daily lives of Zimbabweans. It is in my best plans to collaborate also with foreign talents to reach the international stages,” he said.

Maestro Da Hustler’s commitment to honesty, transparency, and accountability has earned him respect in the sector.

Recalling a pivotal moment, he shared, “When I was about to give up in music, the situation forced me to keep on giving the younger generation a message about life. It is hard out there and other artists encouraged me to keep on going with it, they made me hope life will be better tomorrow.”

The upcoming album “Dear Mpilo” reflects Maestro Da Hustler’s personal journey and growth as an artiste.

“This album was crafted out of 90% of my story life. Also, as a young person living in the ghetto community, I also decided to be inspired by some actual events encountered by some of the people we live with in the society so that they can also relate to the album,” he said.

Maestro Da Hustler hopes that the “Dear Mpilo” message will resonate with listeners, especially the youth.

“The message passed to the listeners of the album including the youth is that life is a journey and everyday we learn. We should not complain but make a way out of the hardships we face. For the youths, they must stop drug and substance abuse and face life realities as they are. It’s never too late for the youth are the future.”

The album features other Bulawayo acts such as Killemol’s King Rodney, Fury Gun among others.

As fans eagerly await the album’s release on major digital platforms, Maestro Da Hustler promises that they can expect a profound and impactful listening experience.

“Fans should expect and accept the message about life. It may be not easy and not be in your favour so you have to understand life and make it in your favour.
