A BULAWAYO woman was stabbed by a prostitute after she arrived home early from church and found her husband with the hooker in their matrimonial bedroom drinking beer.To add insult to injury, Oscar Phiri – the woman’s husband – allegedly folded his arms and watched while the two women tore into each other.
Ruth Ndlovu of Magwegwe North suburb was stabbed by Nomatter Ndebele in the fracas that ensued.
Ndebele appeared before Western Commonage provincial magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo facing an assault charge.
She pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to December 8 for trial.
Prosecuting, Mufaro Mageza said Ndebele intentionally stabbed Ndlovu with a pair of scissors on her left arm.
“Ndebele stabbed Ndlovu after she caught her red-handed with her husband in their bedroom drinking beer,” he said.
The court heard that on October 26 at around 1PM, Ndlovu went back to her house from church and found her husband in the matrimonial bedroom drinking beer with Ndebele.
Mageza said Ndlovu confronted Ndebele and a misunderstanding arose.
“Ndebele became violent, grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed Ndlovu on her left arm. The two women fought while the husband, Oscar Phiri watched,” said Mageza.
Ndlovu sustained a deep cut and was referred to hospital and a medical report was produced in court as evidence.
Ndebele denied having stabbed Ndlovu.
“I don’t admit the charge levelled against me. I didn’t stab her but we both fought using fists,” she said.
