HORIZON Bar and Restaurant in Bulawayo has shut down!
The popular nightspot that opened on December 17, 2010, will close its doors from this week as new management takes over.
Horizon spokesperson Vuyani Khumalo said after seven years in business it was time to call it quits.
“The sun has set on Horizon as it shall be shut down. There’s a new owner coming in who’ll bring new ideas.
“So this means this week there’s nothing at the nightspot,” said Khumalo.
He said he was not at liberty to reveal who the new managers are.
“From what I know, it’s going to be an interesting merger between two different companies and things might change for the better.
The merger might bring it back to the eye of the city as it used to be,” said Khumalo.
Horizon has hosted high profile South African artistes such as DJs Black Coffee, Tira, Oskido, Fresh, Kent, hip hop group Tear Gas, house duo Liquid Deep and Naak Musiq.
DJ Zinhle’s All White party had become a permanent feature on the yearly calendar at the nightspot.
Other shows that drew attention include the Winter and Summer Carnival, The Pool Party and various fashion shows at the night spot.
