MUTARE-BASED musician Hosiah Chipanga who at one time said he had joined politics, said he was launching a comeback into the music industry by staging a show in Bulawayo.
The Kwachu Kwachu hit-maker renowned for his controversial songs as well as claiming that black people are not receiving blessings because they pray in English, will perform at Manor Hotel on Friday.

He will share the stage with Charles Ndebele and his Ndolwane Super Sounds band, Amangwe Production and Ollah Juru.
In an interview, Chipanga said he was a man of God sent on a mission to serve Zimbabwe just as the biblical Moses but was in the meantime  concentrating on his music career.

“My interest in politics originates from the Kingdom of God and I am like the biblical Moses who was called to serve the people of Israel,” Chipanga said.

The musician in June announced his political ambition and transformation of his Messiah Apostolic Prophetically Inspired People’s Institution Church (MAPIPI) into a fully-fledged political party. The party had indicated that it was participating in this year’s harmonised elections but failed.

Chipanga said only time will tell whether or not he will contest in the 2018 elections.
“I’m waiting for the right moment because if you do the right thing at the wrong time, the whole issue becomes wrong,” he said.
The singer said from Bulawayo he will stage another show in Plumtree on Saturday and wind up his Matabeleland tour with a show at Jabula Inn in Esigodini on Sunday.

Chipanga rose to fame with songs such as Gushungo, Taona Moto, Kurongeka Sahwira Wenyika and Dzorai Vana, which took a swipe at people who claim to be prophets when they are imposters.
